After years of baking sweets and cakes for family and friends, I have decided to open my own home-based sweets bakery, so I am looking for a cute and cozy name for the bakery. I will also have a website with pictures of cakes and sweets, with more information and prices for ordering. All suggestions are appreciated! =)

After years of baking cakes and making sweets for family and friends, I've decided to open my own little bakery. My business will be home based, with a website (there will be pictures and pricing info.). I will be making cakes and sweets for parties and events, upon custom orders. All name suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Aroma Bakery
Black Forest Cake and Pastries
The Cookie Cutter's
Gold Ribbon Cakes and Bakery
Blue Ribbon Cakes and Bakery
Red Ribbon Cakes and Bakery
Room for Dessert
Snatcher's Cookie Crumb
Sweet Decadents
Sweet Delectables
Sweet Dreams (this one may already be taken as a franchise)
The Sweet Factory
La Petite Pastry Shoppe
The French Gourmet
Elite Sweets
Dough-Re-Mi
___________'s Patisserie
The Diamond Bake Shop
Sunshine Treats
Sweet Endings Pastry
Note: Since these suggestions came from a Detroit area Yellow Pages, you will have to check to see if these are not registered names (or whatever the term is) before using one of them. But I bet most, if not all, are small, local businesses.
Good luck with yours!

Look for a name that could also be your web site URL.
Do a keyword search and try to find the shortest name that could incorporate a most searched keyword. Best if it is 30K searches a month at the minimum.
The web is moving toward a Geo-Local search base which means the web can be cheaper to get advertising than the yellow pages.
When you do the searches you will get a list of other words to consider for a name.

Good for you!! Great to see others come over to the self employed side.
I have named my companies by just listing out every word that goes with that business. And I mean every last word. Then try to pick and choose a mix of words to form a name and then see if the dot com is available. Once I have a list of say 10 names that I like and have dot coms available. I send out a mass email to all my friends to give me their opinions of the names and to rank them. I then compile that info and normally end up with a name.
Stay away from odd spelling of words or dashes as its hard to communicate those when speaking and talking about your web site. dot com is best to have at all expense....otherwise dot net, anything else will be ignored for the most part.
I use do automotive paint cosmetics and named myself BrushlessColors. Cause I don't use brushes and I play with colors.
Another company is a headlight restoration company. Renewed Sight. Cause I was re-newing the sight of the headlights.
Another was MarkaColor for a touch up paint pen. As you were marking the color on the spots.
and last a business that does web sites for dealerships, DealerPages. I was doing web Pages for dealerships.
Make it catchy but stupid simple at the same time. Something like " the Confectionery " is a nice name, says what you do...but how many people would actually understand it let alone spell it properly.
make it simple...like sugarcookie or sweettreats if you want volume of business like a mass produced cookie company. make it personal if you want to be considered the high line of cookies and cakes. like Angie's....the store of sweets.

That sounds like so much fun! I hope you're very successful and happy! ;-)
Some Ideas:
Sugar Bakers
(your name) Sweet Shoppe
Patty Cakes
Comfort Cakes
Sweetie Pies
Save Your Fork
Den of Delish
just plain ol' "SWEET"
Cozy Confectionery
You could always go with the molecular formula for sugar: C12H22O11 (numbers are subscript)

Emphasise the handmade angle - something like
Custom Cuisine
Personal Pastries
Bespoke Bodega
Handmade Hampers
... or go for the value aspect - something like
Cheap Tarts (!) ...couldn't resist that one...
Budget Bakery
Target the market you're aiming for, keep it short and snappy and memorable. Alliteration always helps too.
Good luck!
