The big question is, would we stop aging??? If not, then no thank you to either choice.
But if so, then I'd choose 6K years over immortality. For one thing, knowing something has an end attached helps humans appreciate it more. For another, if mortality becomes too great a burden, I want the chance to change my mind :-)

I would, even though it would mean that I would have to live with the results of decisions made by people who do not plan beyond the next financial quarter - I suppose I do that now... At least as an immortal if it became too irritating I could then travel to distant stars and planets - however long it takes - and try again. Yes I would definitely give it a shot.

If I could choose to be immortal it would not make sense to limit my existence to a meager 6,000 years. I wouldn't definitely like to live forever IF I could be healthy and happy at least most of the time.
btw: I am "Paul H" Level 6, but am having problems accessing my original account. I am answering questions because I enjoy it so much... that's why I made it Level 6! I am trying to get this problem resolved, but so far no luck, and it is a real nuisance to have to post this information in EVERY question I answer. I hope this gets resolved soon.

Do I age normally in both cases?
If yes, then 6000 years, definately!
If I stopped aging or even went back to like 25, I'd want to know the limits of this 'immortality'....do I need to breathe? Can I breathe underwater? If I'm around when the sun explodes, will I still live? Do I need to eat?

Neither - People forget that human psychology, as well as biology, is the product of millions of years of evolution. Our minds are not designed to last that long any more than are our bodies. We are 'supposed' to die well before either time length you mention.

Only if I can retain all my knowledge. After all, what is the use of living unless you continue to learn?
