Is it possible for your water to break as early as 25 weeks or even less? I guess it probably IS possible but what would cause such a thing in an otherwise "normal" pregnancy??? Is this a common thing ??

There are numerous reasons for your water to break, and yes it does happen this early.. My friend's water broke 4 days ago and she was only 23 weeks, she ate perfectly healthy, and followed everything she was supposed to do.. and it still hapened.. Unfortunately they tried everything they could but she lost the baby... It is not a regular occurance, but statistically 1 of every 3 pregnancies end in miscarrige during sometime in the pregnancy.. However most happen within the first 12 weeks, during the second trimester it is considered a late term miscarriage, but in the third trimester miscarriage is not really common as now days there are so many things and babies born during this time have a really high chance at survival...

I definitely think you should go through with this, not just for the baby's sake, but what if it really is your husband's baby?! Then you really going to regret it. I can understand you don't want to keep the baby bc the doctors have convinced you your husband is not the father, but they said there is still a 5-10% chance right? Well maybe you should take that chance, what if you get lucky... If it turns out the baby isn't his, there is always adoption, it really is sad how bad some people want kids but can't concieve!. And if the conception date has changed 4times, why would you think what the doctors are telling you now is accurate? I mean, I know they're doctors and all but seriously, 4 times! Also, there is no safe way to make yourself go into labor or pop your water bag, but things to make it faster could be exercise, sex, and even spicy food! You are too early for the baby to turn out healthy though. Just remember the baby is still part of you and possibly your husband too, so hang on to that possibility! Well I hope you make the right decision, and Good luck!

Yes it can happen. but it's not common. They do not know why the water breaks early. If you are this early they would keep you in the hospital on anti-biotics then deliver you soon after. The baby would be at great risk for infection and it's safer to deliver, but that early they'd put it off for a couple of weeks.

It's not common. Once your water breaks, your cervix is open for bacteria and infection to get in. Doctors won't let you labor for much more than 24 hours after your water has broken for this reason, and will perform a c section. (Full term). For 25 weeks, if your water broke, your baby will have to be delivered and put in the nicu. I hope this is a hypothetical question, sweetie. Prayers going out to you.

They are no one reason why your water breaks early. My water never broke with my first but my water broke with my daughter at 30 weeks and my water broke at 29 weeks with my last one. But there was no signs of anything wrong. My doctors said that there is no way to tell why this happens in " normal " pregnancy.

No, this is not a common thing. Not unless you've been drinking, doing drugs, or have something else that would lead to premature birth. Something is very wrong and you need to be checked out.

It is possible, but not normal. If this happened to you, you need to get to the ER quickly.
