If you have Norton anti virus it can't remove a trojan, a trojan is not a virus. You need anti spyware to get rid of it.
ou may need to switch off System Restore as back up files may be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it. All the following programs are free for home use;

You need to install one firewall and one nti virus, which you should have with Norton.
You need all three anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Also use Microsoft Defender and their online scans.

And these are useful utilities;
http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
http://www.ccleaner.com Cr*pcleaner Registry cleaner and privacy tool
Winpatrol is a handy utility that manages cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.
http://www.winpatrol.com
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com
http://www.siteadvisor.com -MacAffee Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.

http://spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm - The Spyware Warrior site identifies fake anti spyware programs.
https://www.grc.com - Shields Up security site, check your firewall works.

Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.

If it's a red Norton pop-up box, you're already infected. Norton is crap and I suggest you go to www.prevx.com, download their PREVX1 software - it won't cost you anything for the first 28 days, then you decide whether £14.50 is a better spend for the year than crappy old Norton/Symantec. This will get rid of your nasty old Trojan. Norton is only for viruses (crap at removing them also) not Trojans. Prevx does all 3 things - AV, firewall and malware/spyware removal. Don't forget, for something to act as a virus/trojan or spyware object, it has to run as a program. Prevx detects and stops them running. I ain't on commission but I haven't found a better program than this.
Hope this helps
Steve

DeepThroat.Trojan has no visual indicators of infection. When executed, this Trojan horse modifies the system registry to enable itself to run as a service. When installed on a Microsoft Windows system, it lets others gain full access to the system through a network connection.

Removal instructions.....

Scan your computer with Norton AntiVirus.
Restart your computer in MS-DOS mode.
Delete any files detected by Norton AntiVirus as DeepThroat.Trojan.
Restart the system.
Edit the Windows registry using Regedit.exe. Go to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

On the right side of the window, look for the registry entry with SystemDLL32 as its name field. Right-click SystemDLL32 and click Delete.
Restart the machine again, look at the registry, and make sure that the Trojan horse did not reinstall itself.

Use AVG Free it's better at stopping the attacks on the computer, and it is possible that it is spyware/malware and Nortons can't help you with the attack
Run an anti-spyware program such as Lavasoft's AdAware
You should run them in safe mode also
