Last time I checked it wasn't illegal. Of course there are those people who do not understand a purely platonic relationship, and would tell you otherwise.

Oh, Oh, pick me, pick me, I know this one.
Being a woman and independent, I would have to say that as long as there is no sex involved and you are just friends, I'd say no. However, men are kind of funny about things like this, unfortunately, most of them don't think a women can have male friends without sex coming into play.
I have a few male friends whom I've been friends with for years, once you get passed that awkwardness, it's a breeze.

Not a good idea if it even looks as though something could be going on...depends on whether or not you just met this guy or hes from your past...think of ot this way.. if roles where reversed would you have a problem with it? oohhh and if its dinner or movies stuff like that it is not right especially if you hubby is not invited..even though you see it as just friends you husband may see hes interested when you dont..keep these things in mind..I would hang out with him by myself if your husband has already voiced his opinion

No it's not "illegal". The women shouldn't hide it from her husband though, because it would cause problems. She should tell him the truth when asked where she is going. She also shouldn't go with him to a place where it seems like something else is going on (like his place). She should go out to dinner with him if she's just planning on hanging out with him.

It's not illegal, but it has to be just friends, and if anything suggests otherwise then I would stop hanging out.

No, but it could lead to the married woman having to answer questions. She should be honest with her hubby and be friends with whomever, her hubby may have issues with that, but overall that is his own issues, not hers.

Depends on what happens when you hang out? If it is just friendly dinners and movie then it is ok. If you start having romantic feelings for each than it is not ok.
