Marvel comics created both Elektra and Xmen and they now have a movie division that makes films about their comic book characters

That is their very vague way of saying that there's very little crossover because no one who had any talent wanted to work on Elektra. Zak Penn was one of the writers of Elektra and also wrote X2 and X3. He is the only 'force' that had much to do with both films.
