Go like this: 4 x 81 / 100 = 3.24

I'm not sure how you mean your friend's question, the answer is '2' as in 2 correct out of 100 possible....I am wondering if you mean: 'what is a 2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale, converted to a 100% scale...then that answer is 50%. (100 X 2 / 4= 50).

is an 81 at your school a B or C? 4.0 scale isn't by percent, it's by letter grade. A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0. Add up all your grades and divide by the number of classes.
