Makeup doesn't necesarily expire although it can become contaminated with germs and bacteria. Concealer: Has a life of about 18 months due to emulsion (the ingredients will begin to separate). Also, remember you’re generally using concealer to cover blemishes, which can be more sensitive and prone to infection than other parts of your face.
Liquid Foundation: You should never use liquid foundation after more than one year. Always use a sponge, and not your germ-laden fingers! If the foundation separates or smells bad, throw it out.
Loose Powder: This item can last for years.

If you buy department store make-up look in the back for the drawing of a little open jar with a number on the inside. That number tells you how long the product will work from the day you open it. If your make-up doesn't have this in the back, just throw out any mascara, liquid foudation, or pretty much anything that's liquid and has gotten sticky after 3 months.

Foundation or concealer lasts for about one year after opening the bottle.

All make up expires at some point. I think 6 months, although you can get away with using it longer, if it's comes from a good line.

yeah it does of course! you can get a rash or irritation with your skin if you use it for a long time. foundation lasts for a year, throw it out after that long if u still have some left. concealer last for about a year to two years.

great question!
and this is one of the reasons why i LOVE mineral makeup so much -- it never expires! which is especially nice for me, b/c i don't use it up all that quickly... so there's no waste. =)
but of course, as always, be sanitary when handling it. i.e. don't put water or wet brushes into the actual jars (remove the powder first, if mixing). and clean brushes regularly (at least every week or so), as they collect bacteria very quickly. i would also clean the jar lids regularly, say every two weeks to every month?

Yes. Check on the packaging for the expiration date. Sometimes it's printed on the bottom of the jar or tube.

Um..i do not. i exploit all my make up until eventually eventually it runs out, no count number number how lengthy that takes. it under no circumstances did me any damage. yet, see once you're taking your mascara brush out of the tube, it pops? even as it stops popping it is lengthy gone off and would not artwork so properly, so i have a tendency to modify it then. yet my very last mascara did me about 11 or 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. i'd not trouble too a lot about it

Yes, 6 months on anything liquid or cream - including mascara. Put it in the fridge to preserve it a little better. I think it is a couple of years on lipgloss and lipstick. No shelf life on eyeshadow.

Yes, makeup can go bad just like anything else can.
Here is a good site that produces good guidelines on when to get rid of old makeup.
