Does anyone call you Mac or Mack? It's used for names like Mackenzie. Since you like sports and dogs ... it might be a bit of a " jock " sounding name. It all depends whether or not you want to come across as more feminine or masculine. Mackie or Mickie would sound more like a girl's name and wouldn't confuse people about your gender when they hear it used.
Personally, I think Michaela is a BEAUTIFUL name and probably wouldn't want people to shorten it. Enjoy who you are and honestly it doesn't matter WHAT they call you .... as long as they CALL you! Good luck!
