Atomic fusion in stars is responsible for everything you see. Many compounds that exist cannot be created in nature except in stars. When a star dies, it explodes, throwing all of these atomic structures out into the universe. In addition to being the chemical building furnaces of the universe, there would be no life without the heat and light produced by stellar fusion. So a better question to ask is: What DONT stars produce?

Stars are the result of a hot ball of gas, coming together as a result of gravitational attraction, achieving sufficient temperature to begin nuclear fusion, essentially the fusion of hydrogen nuclei to helium. This fusion produces a force which is held in equilibrium by the retaining effect of gravity, enabling the star to remain stable.
As it nears the end of its lifetime on what is known as the main sequence, the star will begin to fuse heavier elements from the hydrogen and helium nuclei, and depending upon the mass of the star it could even go so far as to form iron at its core. However, this is the heaviest atom that can be fused exothermically, and for heavier ones to be formed the star must undergo a supernova explosion, a massive release of energy which allows much heavier elements such as uranium to be formed endothermically.
In short, stars convert hydrogen (which as an element makes up the majority of the universe) into the heavier elements, one of which is Carbon, from which you and the rest of the life on this planet is made. You, and the rest of the solar system, have formed from the remains of a supernova explosion of a massive star, so you could say that stars produce something!
Hope this helps!

Without the output from stars the universe would be filled with nothing other than hydrogen gas. Stars "cook" up all the other elements that exist in nature, then blast them out into space. Eventually this produced material forms into new stars, planets, and living organisms. Actually all the elements that make up your body were "cooked" in the interior of ancient stars. You and I and all of us are made of star stuff!
