Question

That you can tell if a woman is pregnant with a boy or a girl depending on the way she carries herself. How does that work?

Yes sometimes, they say that if a women is carrying lower, like on her hips, and has a more football shape to her belly its most likely a boy, they say if your carrying right under your boobs, and have a mor basketball shape your carrying a little girl. For me it works, I'm having a boy, my stomach was very low right from the beginning, and more like a football shape, they also say you can tell by the way they kick in your belly. Stronger harder-for boys, Lighter easier-for girls. Good luck!

It's one of many old wives' tales. I had many people tell me that I was carrying a girl when I was pregnant with my son because of the way I was carrying him, and many that have tried telling me that I am now carrying a boy, even though the ultrasound said differently. I've heard it both ways (high means a boy OR a girl) and I've heard many other variations of how to determine the sex of the baby. I wouldn't put much stock into any of the old wives' tales.

My mother-in-law was led to believe she was carrying a girl when she was pregnant with my husband, because of the fast heartbeat. So she went out and bought everything for a little girl, only to find out that she was having a little boy when he was born!

I can tell you from personal experience, that with my son, I carried the weight all over (I gained 60)... and he sat low.. This time I am pretty sure it is a girl, and right now I am 21 weeks, and have gained only 8 lbs... and I barely am showing. It is all in my tiny belly which I am carrying low as well... Really all this they say is old wives tales, and most arent true, but you have to admit it can be fun .. :)

Actually, it's how she carries the baby. They say that boys carry low and girls carry high. Or that with boys you can't tell she's pregnant from behind but with girls you can. Of course sometimes it's right and sometimes it's wrong, but it's fun to guess!

I believe in this silly stuff..lol
it worked with both of my past pregnancys and every one of my friends including my sister in law...If u carry wide like a watermelon and high up like right under neath your breasts its a girl...and if u carry low down and out like a basketball its a boy...not only do i believe in some of these wives tales but they are fun too,there is no harm in them..Have fun and good luck!!!

Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. Don't go by the way you are carrying to determine the sex of your baby. My sister carried like she was having a girl and she had a boy.

i had a big round bump and people kept tellin me it was a girl. and it was it was mostly the old people that told me.

although i had this weird asain woman stop me in the street and saidn 'Baby Boy Be Born' and to remember her face. and it was a girl. she freaked me out and got me wonderin till my daughter was born 3 months ago

i believe you can. i can see it in my pregnancy and my friends...

for a girl, its like your normal stomach with a fatty basketball right on top of it.
for a boy, its like inserting a watermelon longwise into your belly.

my son was very watermelony and my friends who are having girls have those basketballs. its not always going to work, of course, but that is how it works...
