if he is your son under your roof, that is NOT violating his privacy, you are the parent you make the rules, bear in mind however that you are asking this question in Polls and Answers which is full of youngins so you are not going to get the answer you want. You could take away his computer rights if he will not give you the password, pull in the reigns. I would always tell my parents my computer/internet passwords if they asked when I lived at home. Are you paying for the internet/the computer/the electricity? Are you the parent? You have a right to know!

AHHH so you want to see your sons AIM account I take it you dont trust him?.

Think of the consequences and you would be violating his privacy if you got into his account.

If anyone did that to me I would be very upset

if you ask him for the password he may get defensive and may be upset at you for it he may think you do not trust him and you may hurt your relationship with him.

Talk to him about it maybe you two can come to a decison

So tell him to GIVE you the password or take away the computer. Simple.

I have all my daughters passwords and check her accounts all the time.

How old is he????

Make him sign on and read it with him. Who is the parent?????

Why are people so afraid of infringing on the "rights" of their children. Geeze... be a parent.
