Today,as always, I went to internet hall of Uni then I push my USB memory stick in one of computers there and it was OK and after doing what I wanted I used the safty remove procedure and I pulled it out but after just a few minutes I pushed it into another computer but suddenly the computer restarted and as it happend to me earlier I let it be there but after it came to windows xp front page I could't see my device in explorer and I pulled it out but it was very hot and it is not recognized by any pc any more,It is genx smartx 2Gb,how can I check if it is dead or not?

It sounds like the device may have become damaged when it was being ejected from the computer memory sticks don't normally get hot this could be dead I'm afraid.

Check it again in the original computer that worked, if it doesn't work, the second computer probably burned it. Probably shorted pins in the USB port. Visuallycheck for bent or mis-aligned pins when you are using different computers all the time.

bring it to the store where you buy it, tell the man it's broken, or if it's burned maybe you'll have to buy another one. the same case with my friend, he got the IC burned out bad...

If it isn't working in any computer then I would say it is broken.
