Seriously its a motor not built for heavy performance modifications. With the money you have put into the Cobalt with stereo etc... then added hardcore motor mods, you would be sitting at the price of a GTO. Its comes with a LS2 V8 which is a serious platform for performance upgrades.
Base GTO, 400HP / 400 ft lb torque. Starts at $33,290
Cobalt 3LT 148 HP / 152 ft lb torque Starts at $16,995
Cobalt SS Supercharged 205HP Supercharged Starts at $21k

Supercharger, ECU, lose the backseat if possible, carbon fibre hood, racing mirrors, new aero widebody kit, dual exhaust, intercooler, carbon fibre trunklid with a wing spoiler in addition to a boost controller, tweaking the heads....your car may never be on par with Supras and NSX's but with alot of cash and tech...you could end up with 250 horses..which ain't bad for what you got...I would trade it in and get a 2002 Camaro SS

Why? it's a four door Cobalt for crying out loud. If you wanted fast why buy this turd of a car? I know...put a big wing on the trunk...some outlandish graphics on the side...big coffee can exhaust thing....and some 20 inch wheels. It'll look fast.....*SHAKES HEAD AND ROLLS EYES*

The best way to make it faster would be to strap a tow rope onto it with the other end to the back of a Z06 Corvette and let him pull you.
