I would definitely go to someone higher above the principals head. Unless it is a private school where there are strict guidelines I don't see why this should be a problem. And even then, you'd have to ban all boys from wearing colors associated with girls such as purple, pink, and red. It seems like poorly disguised discrimination against who knows what. I am a mother, and if my child ever got suspended from school for something as stupid as wearing a pink shirt I would be irate and would not stop until every parent knew about what had happened and either changed schools or changed policies. The color of a shirt has nothing to do with the moral makings of a seven year old. My little brother played with dolls more than I did when we were seven and no one suspended him from school. You should be upset, and you have to remember children aren't aware that they're supposed to be biased towards colors and they don't know how society see's it. Children are attracted to what they think is fun and exciting, and the principal of a school of small children probably should read up on the topic before suspending a kid based on the color of his shirt.

say he`s a boy and the school only allows girls to wear a girls uniform .if he`s young he is probably being curious the same as little boys sometimes like girls toys as they don`t have their own
sexual orientation is not do do with clothes no one is born with an instinct that tells them boys wear trousers girls wear skirts
my 2 daughters dion`t own a skirt between them so does that mean they are lesbians

It depends on his age. Most boys go through a period of liking girly things, but grow out of it.
If he is older then I would tell him he can wear what he wants in the house but outside he must wear the uniform he has.
As has been said, making an issue of it, will only make him more keen.

Tell him that boys are not allowed to wear girl's uniforms to school. If he asks why, and he will, tell him that the school wants to keep track of which students are boys and which are girls and if he goes dressedin a girl's uniform, it will be confusing for the school.

It depends on how young he is if he is really young then I wouldn't let him wear girls clothes it could make him make some serious decisions in he life later he will regret. But let him have his own personality. Hope I could help!

It's up to you but explain to him the other boys will tease him to no end for doing it. Sometimes they just have to grow out of these ideas.
