That is a great question but I don't know the answer. I can guess it is because they don't view animals as threats to their existence.

Well, because humans are sometimes the cruelest animals that there are. They can be complete jerks and just so rude. But, animals, especially dogs and cats, will love you unconditionally no matter what you look like, no matter what disability you have and they will never make fun of you or call you names. So, by default people like them better. There's a reason that dogs are a "man's best friend" and not another person. Even your bestest friend can backstab you, but animals will love you unconditionally forever. It's hard to be nice to people when they are cruel to you. You hear all the time about people murdering other people, but you never hear "dog shoots owner because he didn't get him the right buscuits." People are violent, unpredictable and harder to make friends with and accept then animals are. I hope that answered your question, 'cause I think it was a pretty good one.

I try to be nice to humans too, but so many of them betray you, lie to you, treat you like crap behind your back, say they love you and then decide they love someone else, etc.
Animals are truly innocent. They love you unconditionally. They don't lie or cheat or talk about you behind your back. My animals love me even when I don't feel like being loved. They are always glad to see you and they don't care what kind of mood you are in. They cheer you up when you are sad. They are truly the greatest things in the world to have. Unlike humans, they seem to never have a care in the world and tend to make you feel good all the time. Animals are simply more loving and nicer than most human beings.

I think one of the reasons is because some people just relate better to animals. For example, I went with my cousin when she took her dog to the veterinarian, and the vet was so nice to the dog. and then when he was explaining the dog's exam to my cousin, it was like he had no "people skills" and wasn't socialized around humans. But he was great with the dog!
I also think that animals are so "real"--what you see is what you get. People can be manipulative and act like jerks, lying, two-faced, deceptive...you name it, we can be it. With animals, you don't have that.
And yet another reason is because I think it was the animals' world first, and then we humans came and took over. So maybe, it is our guilt that makes us treat animals nicer than we do our fellow humans.
But that's just my opinion, what do I know?

Humans are nicer to animals because they don't talk back. So they can't say anything mean or hurtful.

Animals don't lie or have an agenda. They won't rat on you to co-workers. They're simple and only need the basic necessities of life and in turn return love. They're not complicated like some idiot humans are.

I guess the same reason animals are nicer to humans than to each other. It's all territorial, I guess. Good question, though.

It's the same reason that we are "nice" to babies -- the innocence and pure honesty you get from animals make it natural to trust them. They are not deceptive. They don't possess the ability to lie, cheat, or steal. They are naive and innocuous, unlike adult humans. Trusting an animal comes easily, as you know that they do not have the ability to have an ulterior motive.

animals are capable of unconditional love.( cats and dogs anyway)
animals are 100% pure, honest and true. A dog will always behave like a dog, a snake will always behave like a snake where a human may behave like a human one day and a dog the next, and a snake the next.

Maybe some people just have a hard time warming up to others. When you have a pet,,,, they love you unconditionly no matter how you treat them they always forgive you. Humans are not like that ,,,,we get hurt and it takes us a long time to get over it and sometimes we never do. Hope this helps you some.
