The unofficial police count says 100,000 and the organizers say 500,000. I have been told after attending several of these big rallies that the true count is somewhere in the middle as one underestimates and the other overestimates. So likely around 250,000, but the media is saying only "tens of thousands" ansd showing close up shots of crowds so you can't see how many were there.

I will tell you as one who went..it took me 1 1/2 hour to get to the main crowded area due to bus and subway travel and having to walk so far and rest due to disability and there was a continuing and steady stream of people, several abreast arriving from subway and walking between Washington monument and capitol towards the rally 1 and 1/2 hour into it as I observed from benches. When I finally got close enough to hear, I quit observing but they were still coming. Subway escalators were wall to wall people.

At 4 pm I looked down from the 4th floor of the nearby Smithsonian American Indian Museum and saw them still returning from the march about 2 hours and 15 minutes after it started. By the time I got on the street where they were returning at 5, the march was over..so it was a lot of people. Here are two estimates--one talking about this very topic of underestimating crowd size.

waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy too many...the problem is they dont understand that war is about the only thing keeping al qaeda from our shores. remember..uss cole...clinton response..NADA
african embassy bombings...clinton..BUPKUS.....first wtc...NIL..six separate opportunites to capture bin laden with the help of our allies...clinton....ZIP...ZERO...ETC. .the idea here is they pushed the button till they got a response and now pelosi/reid want to do it all over again..those who dont learn from history are condemmed to repeat it.
