i once was in an audience at a hypnosis show and after a few eliminating questions i got selected to be hypnotised.. i was made to act like a child for a while .. and i still 10 years later am not sure if i was hypnotised or i was just enjoying myself... does enyone know the truth to stage or even real hypnosis... regards russell

No one can be hypnotised, you were just being compliant to some subtle embedded commands form the "hypnotist" Our brains are designed to take in information several different ways. In verbal communication our brain can get confused when a "hynotist" uses confusing phrases amongst normal language. I would tend to agree that you were enjoying yourself and please do not believe the response that said you are a certain "type" of person, as this is rubbish.

I am sure that you can be hypnotised at these shows and whilst 99% of the time, they are probably fun, never been to one, but I was visiting a friend in hospital some years ago on a phsyciatric ward, and there was a young girl in her twenties there who had been to one of these, had been put into a trance, and the hospital could not get her out of it and were talking about giving her ECG to shock her brain into action.... on that basis I would never ever go to one.. I have seen what can happen with my own eyes and it was not pleasant. so maybe you were, I was under the impression that you were oblivious to what you were doing whilst hypnotised, but I maybe completely wrong, but my previous tale is very true so beware out there!

Stage and real hypnosis are both the same thing. It is real and most ,if not all people can he hypnotized only some take a little longer. I have spoken to a few people, including my own daughter, who have experienced this and all of them remember nothing about it. It is even possible to learn self hypnosis and have seen it done. Stage hypnosis can be good fun but beware of being hypnotized in private as there are rogues about who could take advantage of you .

hypnosis is possible but you will only carry out what you are being told to do if you want to do it. If you didnt want to do it you wouldve made the hypnotizer look stupid so maybe you wanted to be hypnotised. You are not actually being put to sleep other wise the audience would be asleep too. Its simply another state of your consience but you are still in control. So maybe you were were just taking the mick.

My friend knows all about this subject and he reckons that you've got to be a certain type of person to be stage hypnotised. Naive to be honest mate. There is also something about attention seekers being great candidates for stage hypnosis.

I don't know. I think hypnosis is possible, but I'm not sure its as effective as the stage acts would have us believe. I think its easier for the person to just do it than stand there looking stupid;
