Did you know what it was?
Or did you have to sit and try to figure out this odd feeling?

Being dropped the first time you're in love with someone is said to be the most painful experience in relationships, on the emotional outlook. But surely there are some good things you like to remember about your first love?
Or is it all so painful that you don't dare try to recall anything?

If you do enjoy the memories, which one was your favorite?
Thanks for all answers.

I recall my high school sweetheart fondly. He and I dated for 3 years. My love for him kind of grew out of a friendship. We are still friends 25 years later and still drop each other a Christmas card every now and then.

The dumping part was hard. I was moving on after high school -- he was content to just be a waiter at a local restaraunt. We weren't headed in the same direstion and it was just time to move on with our separate lives. But I really never think about that part. We had some great times together.

I guess my favorite memories besides just gazing into his baby blues were our Friday night "routine" -- dinner at the Olde Spaghetti Factory followed by another run at "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". Fond memories.

First love is great, and no, I won't try to tell anyone that they can't "really" fall in love at 15. He was the first great love of my life. Fortunately I married my second great love. (Time-wise, that is)

best time of my life, 9th grade (1986), beautiful girl, fell hard and fast, thought it would last forever, recall it like it was yesterday and brings a smile to my face every time. Definitely painful when it ended- but learned a lot and wouldn't change it for anything- my favorite memory was singing and dancing in a rain storm- soaking wet, yet having the time of my life, wish I was there now...

The first time I fell in love, it didn't work out so well. He loved me more than I loved him. And he still does. We continue to be friends, and I trust my life in his hands. But I have great memories and I will always love him, just not the same way as I first did.

I love remembering it because I really loved him, I just get sad when I hear the song that reminded me of him we were lovers for one week but it was one of the best weeks of my life we met in this place in Hurghada and then I stayed a week there I had to go back To cairo & he had to go back to austria. Here's how it started there's this program in Hurghada *we were both staying at the same hotel* and the program was like really fun they would have contests & funny shows & a team called "animation" team they would like dance & have people dance with them it was so fun & there was a contest for 4 guys in it one of them was charlie *my lover* and they had all these crazy contests like to sing and everything so he was singing this song & he was like "Hey Hey baby I wanna know if you'd be my girl" and he was looking at me and smiling the whole time & then after that there was another contest all 4 guys had to kiss as many girls as they can in the crowd and charlie came up to me and kissed me on the cheek & then after the contest was finally over he's the one who won the contest and then he sat down and I looked at him he had the cutest smile ever and then I wanted to do something
so he knows he has my attention so I went and did my hair in this crazy way lol & then he went for 2 minutes he took off his shirt and winked at me lol and then we started talking & talking & we really feel in love I adored this boy. and it really makes me sad that I can't ever see him again I never got his number because when the bus was leaving I was looking everywhere for him and i couldn't find him so it was really sad =( I miss him like hell so there I hope I provided enough information :D

I knew it was love and I'll never quit loving him.I can't hes the father of my kid.And although we were the worst together I still hope he finds the women he's looking for and I'm glad that we are still friends. It took awhile to get to friendship but I'm glad I have it.I wouldn't trade it for the world.

My first love--No I don't like to even think about it! Yes I can agree that it was the most painful experience trying to get over him, because he was my life, my everything and he broke my heart.

I don't really let things like that get to me, whether good or bad, it's in the past and there's nothing I can do to change it, so I look ahead in life and see what things I can change before it gets to me and becomes the past.
