if you favour the use of the left side of your body, this is controlled by the right side of your brain. This side is far more powerful and creative, if you like it thinks in pictures.
The left side is more suited to a Linea style of though, the way schools teach.
In order to communicate ideas, it is best to be able to use both. This is a skill that has to be learnt, for some this is natural but for others less so.
Our working memory's are limited, so if you take an idea from the right brain without first using the left brain to edit and simplifier it, it will crash like a computer, or just take a long time to process the information.
One third of us are left brain dominated one third right and the rest can choose.
This is why schools can reward very stupid people with good results and very clever people with bad results. For a right brain style of thought to have to survive in a world that favours left, instead of contributing to a better world is a bit silly in my view, but while they write the rules what can we do

Left handed people think faster than right handed people.
Research:
Tests in 80 right-handed volunteers revealed a strong correlation between how quickly information was transferred across the left and right hemispheres and how quickly people spotted matching letters.
The same tests made on 20 left-handed volunteers found that the more left-handed those people were, the better they were at processing information across the two sides of the brain.

To a certain extent.
The language centers of the brain are in the left hemipshere. this means that the right handed people are better writing (or at least not so confusing for themselves), hence the large amounts of Dyslexic Lefthanded people. Basically, left handed people either have to have the language centers (Wenikes sp? & brockes areas - word order & spelling basically respectfully...) on the right hemipsheres, that is actrually very rare, or have to deal with writing withe left hemisphere, then transfer that to the right hemisphere to write it down.
then again, there are the beliefs that left handed people are more arty/creative, & right handers more scientific/doing-things-in-order. In this case i do think this holds some truth. The language centers are not the only things that do not share symatery in the brain. creative centres, ie. creative thought is in the right hemishpere, some area I can't remember the name of, but that means that to write or use your hands in a creative manner would be easier for a lefty.
Hope that helps, i know it's all muddled, but funnily enough I am ambidextrous. I think in a left handed person's manner, but am actually hardwired to be right handed (i know where my centres are; the equivalent of a righty. i did tests in my second year of uni)anyway, so yes, you are correct; there is biological evidence to suggest that left handed people HAVE to think a different manner than a righty.

To be completely accurate cack handers are people who use both hands especially their right one badly because they are naturally left handed. However I agree it is a term used to describe lefties.
I'm a leftie and I think we do think differently to right handed people. Statiscally we are more creative and intellegent.
I'm not queer as you so politely state in your question, I'm as normal as the next man or woman.
Just be warned the old english word for someone who is left handed is SINISTER!!!!

They use the right hand side of the brain for speech and writing, which is the opposite to right handed people. The right hand side controls emotions rather than logic which is on the left. Einstein and Leonaro Da Vinci were left handers, and so am I. Left handers are usually arty/creative types.

A person who is left-handed primarily uses his or her left hand, more so than the right hand; a left-hander will probably use the left hand for tasks such as personal care, cooking, and so on. Writing is not as precise an indicator of handedness as it might seem, because many left-handed people write with their right hand but use their left hand for other tasks.

I myself am not left-handed, but my dad, son+ daughter (+ other family members) are.
My daughters writing at school used to be mirrored. + both my son+ daughter struggled to learn to do even simple things, such as sharpen a pencil, tie shoelaces, use a tin opener. My son once said 'to understand + do something forwards i have to learn it backwards.'
1 in 10 people are left. + its not looked apon as being wrong anymore..

Not sure if this is tre or not but I always heard that left handed people are really smart when it comes to things like medicine, science, engineering andmathematics. Right handed people tend to be more into arts, music, literature and more emotional.
