I'm a sixth generation Universalist (Unitarian Universalist) and yes, I make my children go each Sunday until they have completed the three curriculum pieces, Our Whole Lives (sexuality education), Neighboring Faiths (comparative religion) and Coming of Age (mentoring and learning about our faith and local congregation). In our congregation, this curriculum finishes at about 9th grade. My son now has a choice of going on Sundays or not. Although he doesn't go to the regular service, he does go to the Youth Group each Sunday afternoon of his own accord. He also attended our General Assembly last June, also at his own initiative. Our congregation helped sponsor his participation.

no dude I am an adult I do what I want! my parents never forced religion down my throat when I was a kid I probably would have turned out BETTER if they had. Be smarter than me Listen to your parents and go to church, they do everything for you, you have a nice home are treated well and are probably not going hungry and have lots of cool clothes, PLaystations and cellphones, what would it hurt to show them some respect and go to church with the family for a few hours on Sunday morning.? its a simple and easy way to return respect and gratitude for all they have given to you, maybe you can get into the choir or volunteer to help at the Sunday school if you aren't into the service but this is one way you can actually GIVE BACK for all your parents do for you and I am sure you love your parents and would like to give them a little something in return right? its a small way to NOT be so selfish and self centered which when we are young we are waay too much of the time. its a good thing to learn compromise NOW cause kid life is all about compromise it really is take it from someone who has spent 3 fourths of their life bucking the system, and TRYING to do things MY way, man that brick wall hurts more and more as you get older and those habits are really hard to change,,,,, learn now

Yes they did and when I was young really didn't like it. Now I realize that it was good for me. We had a lot of fun activities and I developed many long lasting friendships with people who do have some Christian values. hopefully the church you attend has exciting things happening for different age groups. I now have my children go to church because of the friendships as well as learning about the God of the Bible. When they get older they will explore different religions I'm sure but I want them to be very critical in choosing what they believe in. Right now their young and I am respnsble for them so my moral values will be placed on them.

Sorry so long. Hope you can fid some fun in church if not maybe ask your parents if they can visit churches that do have cool activities for young people.

My mom used to every sunday when I was a child & teen, but not anymore. I do go on special family occasions/homecomings/etc. or if she asks me to cause I do respect my mom more than anyone. (I'm mormon but not active.)

My mother did when I was a child.

I'm an Athiest.

Just to piss her off, I nailed inverted crosses to all the doors in our house.

Never had to go again.
