in the first 1 it seemed like they just set johnny depp up to get smacked around by a bunch of actresses. did he get it in the second one as well? or are the actresses there for that purpose only?

It's a repeating gag. In the 2nd film Will got a smack from a woman on behalf of Jack. I'll bet there will be further slapping in the next installment.
