I don’t want to sound downbeat, but look at the irony here.

How Labour have impacted so-called “Britishness”:

- They’ve handed unprecedented power to an unelected Brussels
- Tried to ban the national flag, Christmas celebrations etc.
- Sold the majority of British utility companies to foreign conglomerates. E.g. Water companies, electricity suppliers, transport maintenance firms etc.
- Used the British military to benefit American policy
- Abused British democracy, restricted free speech, outlawed protests, ignored British public opinion etc.
- The Prime Minister has lied, sold peerages, invented his own foreign policy etc.
- They permitted unlimited immigration & didn’t monitor it
- Labour left the borders weak & didn’t evict foreign criminals!
- Totally failed to integrate new immigrants, so unbalanced “Britishness” in communities
- Blair’s made Britain a globally despised US poodle

So how can Blair demand that “Britishness” is taught to children after 10 years of wrecking it?

Cracker - Everything you have said is how I feel - amazing really that another human feels the same way - I thought because I am growing older that maybe I had a problem but now I KNOW that at least one person understands - everything that you have said is so true and so unacceptable but being British we do accept and don't do anything to rectify the situation. I am now your number one fan so what do we need to do to change everything (any suggestions)

I think it is an extension of the poodle tactic in taking a stand way too late against Muslims. Long ago a decision was made that we are to have a multi racial, multi cultural society. I don't want to comment on whether that is right or wrong but the government of today needs to either honestly support that idea or be honest enough to say that they no longer want that.

Instead of being honest, the government is now preaching equality, tollerance and integration with freedom to follow whatever religion one chooses but suddenly deciding that religious symbols like Muslim veils are 'devisive' and that 'Britishness' now needs to be taught in schools.

They say they will be teaching that Britishness now stems from other countries as well as our own but that it will include British heritage, history and culture. Frankly I don't believe them. I think that it will be more nationalism taught under the disguise of integration.

At least Hitler and Stalin stood up and said what they believed in and I wish that the alternative was not the kind of sly hypocracy we have now.

Gordon Brown is trying to play the British card to convince the voters in england that he isn't Scottish. He even said that he would support england over Scotland in the next World cup. He is promoting Britishness as the MP for Kirkaldy knows he will be up **** creek without a paddle if labour lose in May in the scottish elections. He is trying to maintain the union.
I predict a safe labour seat in the south finding a new MP with the initials GB.(if there is still such a thing as a safe labour seat in England).
This is fine as us Scots don't want him either.

The real deal is that Britishness is a myth anyway. Learning history is for schools and eating pie and mash is not for all of us. Trying to corner a market for Britishness is the biggest con since the poll tax and the congestion charge. People are easier to control if they are made to feel part of an exclusive club. Cultists have used this method of control for hundreds if not thousands of years. If the government was really serious It should give everyone who signs up £1000 and the queue would be round the block. Shows that we are paying no neverminds to, how you say, that B*****Ks. Get me?

England ,Scotland and Wales are three separate countries that's nothing to do with law that's how people feel
we have been here for thousands of years with out wanting or needing to be British
i`m from Yorkshire so on the scale of things first i`m a Yorkshire lass and second i`m English the only time i`m British is on official things where i have to tick a box
and i think most English people think the same to them self they will be Cockney, scouser,Brummy what ever.then English.
Blair as usual is in denial that his glory days are over and being a control freak is a hard habit to kick, so as always he is completely disregarding what the people he is supposed to represent want the same way he disregards the views of his government and party its just one more example of the mans Megalomania .He might be funny if he wasn`t so bloody dangerous
he wants to rob us of the remaining shreds of our identity
and when he does we will have lost our heritage and everything else that makes us who we are

Tony Blair cant even get that right, it's not Brutishness we need, It's Englishness. The Scots have their own identity as have the Welsh and Irish. Never mind it wont happen, because it may offend one of the minority groups we have here claiming we are being racist, and it will go against the European court of Human rights.Just accept the fact we are a doomed nation and will soon be extinct. God save the Queen. (Queen Shilpa that is !!!!)

It's simple.. this generation of p'c' sheep who now call themselves British are really as spineless as the New Labour party, god help the children of tomorrow if they're not coffee coloured and speaking Asian fluently along with another half a dozen languages, as it's only a matter of time before we lose our identity altogether, this is now a land of the quick buck and unfortunately this new breed with their two cars and massive debts and mortages are as greedy as Blair and his cronies.

I know, it doesn't make any sense to me. Bless 'em. I think he's trying to make people believe that multiculturalism and positive discrimination are a good thing. Basically, I think he wants to change what "Britishness" is. I think it is up to parents now to make sure that the children are able to make up their own opinions, and not necessarily listen and believe all the crap that Labour is trying to tell them. If there's anyone that needs a lesson on Britishness it's him and his backwards party.

Nature abhors a vacuum.

Tony has spent a great deal of time creating vacuums so that he can fill them with his doctrine.
Lets abolish the House of Lords and then think about what we'll put in its place.
Let's remove all historic knowledge from our education system so we can place our version of history therein.
Let's remove all vestige of Britishness..........................
