The Sims have their own version of speaking, so I don't think you can change it.

i have the sims 2 too! you can't change the language they speak,it is NOT a real language though

Simlish is a made up language as was pointed out.
There are NO English or other real languages they speak.
But while it is, in effect, gobble-dee-**** it is possible to make out certain words- "deg, deg" means goodbye for example.
;-)
Suggest that your daughter checks out the The Sims 2 website (for which you need the serial number to register as well as a Yahoo or other "handle") to check out the many posts on translations as well as other technical tips.
