I am sure your doctor explained that you might experience a lag in the ability to become pregnant.
Some women experience it more than others but 6 months is not unusual for the return of your menses.
Trying to get pregnant is supposed to be a wonderful thing. Please do not introduce stress into the situation.
I am confident that with in the next six months that things will come together for you and your S.O. So relax there a bit.
Count your blessings, you could be one of those infertile males and their S.O.s that have gone through 8 rounds of IVF with only one pregnancy over an 8 year time frame... Like me.

i have a lot of friends who swore by the shot, so i checked into it with my doctor. she said that it could take up to a year after getting off certain kinds of bc, including the shot.
if you dont already, try charting your periods to see when your fertile days are that way you can maximize your chances of getting pregnant. a great site is mymonthlycycles.com. its free and it has all kinds of information. a great book to read is taking charge of your fertility, by toni weschler. you can probably pick up a copy at your local library.
dont start worrying yet. if you had your last shot in august, that means it could have lasted until the end of november. so you would only have december and january, a window of 8 days (give or take) that you could have gotten pregnant in.
if you are trying to get pregnant you should start taking prenatal vitamins, too. the folic acid in it helps to minimize birth defects.
good luck!

It took me over 18 months after my first shot to get pregnant. It can take 18 months for the shot to get out of your system. I hope this helps.

It can take up to 12 months after stopping birth controls such as the shot or IUD to become able to conceive.

Sometimes you just have to let the shot run it source. Let your body get regular. You have a child already, you know you are able to conceive, give it some time

Just give it a little more time. Try having sex about 9 days after the first day of your period.

There could be many reasons. If you have not been tested you should same as your hubby...it could be because sometimes it takesa little longer after getting off the depo shot...

50% of all couple who want to get pregnant will get pregnant with 24 months of stopping birth control - statistically.
No Marijuana for either of you.
No hot tubs
No booze
wow - those are the things that make sex fun huh???
Seriously - plan on sex 10 days after your cycle every month. Be frisky and giving - the problem may be his sperm count is lower.

it takes a normal couple 12 months to get pregnant, so you just have to be patient and let your body's hormonal cycle return. clearly, you're fertile, so be patient and RELAX. like many things in life, you just have to wait, see and experiment. i wouldn't blame the depo shots.
funny how we worry about getting pregnant when we don't want to get pregnant, but we get so anxious/impatient when we're ready and demand immediate result.
