My music library in iTunes is larger than the capacity of my iPod, therefore, I'd like to sync only certain songs to it. Do achieve this, I "check" the songs I want and tell iTunes to only sync checked songs. That works great and it's the less obtrusive way to do it I could find.

However, iTunes will only play checked songs, which is NOT what I want.

How can I only sync checked songs to my iPod, and yet have iTunes play checked AND unchecked songs when I shuffle?

Note: my question title is somewhat misleading, it should have been: Can anyone tell me how to play unchecked songs in iTunes when I shuffle/play albums?

I don't want to create a playlist to sync with my Ipod because I won't be able to access my songs by playlist from my Ipod.

well I got a really good ipod guide yesterday that shows me how to do it and you don't have to read through any manual or online help this guide actually have videos that show you how to add and remove music manually on your ipod. You can get a copy at http://www.ipod-vibez.com/ipodguide.html

Create a playlist for the songs you want on your iPod and only sync songs from that playlist. Make sure you remove the "sync only checked items" option, though. Hope I helped!

Check mark the songs that you only would like to have, then click the sync button and it should do the trick.
