I have just read a book by Bill Bryson who mentions lead poisoning. He talks of lead particles ingested from petrol fumes which never leaves your body. If you ate pieces rather than particles then those pieces would have passed through your system and been excreted. However they may have left traces in the form of loose particles. I used to be a keen angler and regularly bit on split lead pellets to attach them to the line. I think I am ok so far though. By the way, they reckon that the Roman empire collapsed due to the leaders drinking water from lead aqueducts which drove them insane! Don't worry we all do daft things when we are young.

Go to the doctor or a public health clinic and ask them to run a lead titre on you....they will be able totell with a few diagnostic tests what damage, if any, you sustained. I think they also fdo a hair follicle test for it.

Ingesting lead can cause brain damage. It can lead (no pun intended!) to slowness to learn and difficulty in social development. You may want to get a lead titre done, for your information;
