Johnny used Keef as an inspiration for Capt. Jack and they are good friends in real life. Keef is well described as being "elegantly wasted" and the words are completely appropriate for the good Captain. Keef also has all kinds of dreads and what-nots braided into his hair and he will play Jack's father in the next Pirates movie to be released on May 25.
Bill Nighy (Davey Jones) said Keith was so drunk during the filming of his scene that he had to be held up by the shins to read his lines. I would have loved to have seen that bit of shenanigans.
