I teach Business English and a 1-to1 student I have is pushing ALL my buttons despite the fact that I'm married to a wonderful woman and I have two great kids and a superb home. I've had countless offers in the past and I've never even had to think twice about refusing any advances but this lady is making me afraid because I have seen how she looks at me and although she hasn't intimated anything yet, I feel that it is only a matter of time, and if she does I don't think I will have the strength to refuse. My marriage is strong and secure and I love my wife of 12 years more with each passing day, but this woman is beautiful and kind and in all ways wonderful.

you would risk your career over someone who is staring at you . i know for a fact that it inappropriate to have any kind of affair with your students. do you read the newspaper? and also if you are not sure about your love for your wife, why are you so willing to try and give up on your marriage instead of fighting temptation? then again if you say something she might tell somone that you did try to seduce her.because that you said that will be the only way to get a good grade.

Does this student know that you are married? If so, than she is not that "wonderful" if she is hitting on a married man. And if you truly "love" your wife, you'll find the strength to refuse. And the only person whom you should be considering " beautiful, kind, and in all ways wonderful" is your wife, not a passing student.
Grow up!

You teach Business English? How do these sound in your future vocabulary?

Alimony (if you do something and your wife leaves)
Mergers and Acquisitions (what little stuff you will have left after)
Split Stock (what you'll have between your legs if your wife catches you cheating)
Shorting a Stock (what your wife may do to you with a butcher knife if she catches you cheating)

Take your balance sheet and see for yourself how Bankrupt you'll be (literally and morally) if you fall. Then tell this girl you can no longer be her teacher. You're the professional, you're under no compulsion to explain to her why, so don't. If she asks why, tell her your schedule no longer allows it and leave it at that. If she presses beyond that, she's not just attracted, she's trying to bust up some guy's marriage (yours).

When we get married we do not die. We still see very attractive people, and the occasional flirt. What you do with it, is up to you. Yes, you could end up hooking up with this woman for a few hours of fun, but since she is a student risk your career, your wife, your home, your children, your sanity. Now, when you really weigh that all out, is she still worth it? If you think not, then stay away from her while alone as much as possible. What is wrong with you that you are not "strong enough"? Get Real, there is nothing in this world that is worth risking that much for.

Prof B--I agree with Fast Steve...
If you love your wife as much as you say you do, rather than cheating on her, tell her that you have these temptations and that you need her support in getting through it. This way, the both of you can work out this and any ensuing issues to come in the future. If you involve your wife, she will trust you, and not the alternative. If you try to tread waters on your own, you'll lose.
Do the right thing for you, your wife and your kids. Try looking down the road rather than looking at just today.
You have to foresee consequences in what you are about to risk.
Best of luck to you and your family...

No, if you know you might have sex with her, your marriage is not secure. And face reality, you say you might not have the strength to refuse if she comes onto you? That's the lamest excuse I've heard- putting the blame on her. Something is missing at home. Stop tutoring this girl or you'll ruin your marriage. If secretly that is what you want to do, be a man about it!!! Talk to your wife.

What would you get from this woman if you slept with her? Just sex. It seems to me that you understand what a lasting relationship has to offer. You get love, trust, security, and a family. If you we're to sleep with this woman you would lose all of that. If you can't stay faithful for family, what about yourself?
Would you be able to look your wife in the eye after cheating on her? The answer is no. She would know something was wrong. The guilt trip you'd play on yourself would be unbearable. Just thinking about that guilt keeps me faithful.

Alright I will not sugar coat what I am about to say to you, why on Gods green earth would you want or desire a women that does not respect someone’s holy matrimony. She is a vampire out to do you and your family harm! Remember the devil comes in many disguises she may be beautiful on the outside, but very ugly in the inside any decent women no matter how attractive she is would not even go there. You must stop this infatuation and get over it quick no matter what you do distant yourself from her ASAP!

Hi Prof., save yourself a lot of grief, and cut the sh-t! No good will come out of it. I meet men like you everyday and guess what? It's just about getting laid and played. Nothing more! So don't throw away, what you have. I've played people most of my life, and it's a sad day when you go back to school (hoping to get a good education and stay the he-- out of trouble) but it's there. Different game but the stakes are somewhat the same. Grades for sex, sex for a better GPA, Prof's that hit on you, students that get off on it! And they say Vegas is Sin city, it's got nothing on college life! You sound like you have a conscience, not a good tell-you'll get eaten alive! Go home to your wife, & spice up your sex life!(lol) Now, I realy have to stay the h-- off of answers! See ya!

This woman is obviously attracted to you. And she obviously is arousing some "feelings" or "urges" inside you. I think she is giving the "hints" to see how and if you will respond. If you are truly against exploring things further, then YOU need to let her know you feel uncomfortable and that Nothing can or will happen.
She is just waiting and fishing for SOME KIND of response from you.
But Honestly, I think you are flattered and maybe a little Excited about it.
But think it out. Then Confront her one way or the other.
