I believe it truly depends on wether they were born into money or they had to work really, really hard to achieve it. If they were born into it than most of the time they are taught to believe that the majority of people are poor and don't try to better themselves etc... However most people that I know have money because they have worked very hard and sacrificed many years of living in poverty, driving an old clunker to school and back just praying it will last until they reach the end of their schooling. Same thing goes for folks that work very hard everyday mentally and physically. Huge difference!

Nah, it depends on the person. My family had money when I was younger (well, in my teens, when I was very young we were dirt poor)...we were members of all these clubs and stuff, but I usually ended up making friends with the people that worked there...not the other members.
I think some rich people know that they are stupid, or ugly, or whatever else that they aren't the best at, and so they cling to their money status. They buy lots of expensive things to be able to show people that they are cool and better than everyone else, because they are insecure.
I find that if you make it clear to a richer person that money doesn't make any difference to you, then they will be less likely to shove it in your face.
I've also found that it's a whole different story depending on wether the person was born into money or was born into the slumps and their family made money later on (I fall into the latter).

Not everyone whos rich acts stuck up. There are some people who are dirt poor who will act stuck up to you. Someone could be pushing a shopping cart to the local homeless shelter and act stuck up to you. Then if you talked to the richess person in the city they might be nice and friendly to you. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it depends on the person.

I guess because they can. I know a fair amount of wealthy people yet none of them act this way...I find that many wealthy people who worked to get where they are tend to be more down to earth than those who were given everything easily and got to where they are through ignorance and rudeness.
Sometimes people who 'think wealthy' (have some cash but aren't stinking filthy rich) are the ones who act the worst...a little bit of money a superior person does not make.

I don't know, all kinds of people can be arrogant because that's just the way they are. My friends all live in fairly large houses and have nannies or housekeepers. That doesn't make them completely rich, and they are my friends because I respect and favor their edgy, unique personalities. I wouldn't befriend anyone that I'd just want to look at their house with and admire them for their money, I'd want to have friends that would defend me, have my back, respect and love me for who I was. Things like that stick out to me, not poverty or richness. I have a friend whose clothes are from places like Salvation Army and she lives in an old, torn down house. This doesn't make her devastatingly poverty-stricken, although I would not care if she was. But, I like my friends for who they are, not how much money or how arrogant they are. I guess once I befriend someone, rich or unfortunate, I forget about their arrogance. The rich people who do have lots of money and arrogance might just act like that because of a last resort or because they were always like that.

because they are insecure..... so in order for no one to find out.. they act stuck up and better then everyone else... and once they do that. they're there forever and cant really be themselves anymore.... for example.. if your friends told you that that boy is ugly and you dont want to disagree with them, then you'll tell them that you dont like that boy, then whenever he walks by you'll be like ewwww... but once your friends are gone, you'll be like huhh... he was cute. and you'll stick with that until you grow.. you know.. something similar to that.
