I take it there is a reason your parents won't let you date, my guess they think you are too young. I would never let my kids date until they are at least 16, then only on a small scale level. They can go to dances and functions at school, but if they want to go by themselves to a movie, etc, there has to be an adult with them. My kids...my rules. My kids respect that. My daughter is now 20 and told me that I was right now that she looks back. Some of her friends did things they really regret now. My son is now 16 and because of the rule he doesn't have a g/f but says all the girls in school are his "buds". He went to a dance last night and said he had a blast and danced with every available girl there. His thought is that it was so much better than just one, he gets them all! He also is always telling me why should he chose just one when God made him so irresistible that he can have them all!?! It's all in the attitude. I know this is an old broken record, but here it comes again, you are young, give yourself time. Make wonderful friends of the girls you are in school with and make the most of the school time and functions. Don't tie yourself down to just one, because you may have just overlooked the orchid while looking for a rose! Good luck!

Hello hg,
I'm not sure why or how your parents won't let you date girls, but I imagine it's because of your age. So the best thing to do is to just meet girls at your school where your parents can't control that. The girls that are available probably aren't allowed to date either, so this is the only way of getting together.
You aren't disobeying your parents, because you aren't going out with girls, but you are still getting to know girls socially. You can't have a girlfriend until you learn how to communicate with girls anyway, so this will work OK for you.
You need to learn how girls think and what they like and don't like anyway, and that, hg, is a life-long research. Best of luck to you and happy hunting.

Not dating lets you spend more time creating friendships with girls. Your parents will probably let you hang out with girls as long as you're in a group, right? So make friends with these girls. Learn as much as you can about them now. Besides, if one of those girls and you really hits it off - if she comes over to your house enough and your parents get to know her, they may be willing to waive the rule. If they like her, they might let you ...

how old are you? Dating for real can be quite complicated. Wait until you can drive or easily move about a city on your own because otherwise you'll have to put up with your parents and their inquiries. Honestly, your probably not missing out on much so just wait.

What is the point if your parents wont let you date? Just have friends that are female too, and when you are allowed to date worry about it then.

Why not ask your parents?
They may be willing to allow you to have a girlfriend so long as you don't actually go out together on a real date.

I went for two years being grounded from boys. It didn't slow me down much. I just lied. I saw them in school and after school. Sometimes my friends would let me invite my bf's to their houses. Where there's a will, there's a way. Just Lie, and I'm not kidding.
