What is the difference between the Toronto humane society and Toronto animal services and what one is better?

I'm interested in doing volunteer work and I want to know what one is better I know there is some bad blood between the two though

humane society is funded by donations, animal services is city ran. Also animal services has animals put down.
Either one usually accepts volunteers. Call and talk to them.

i would volunteer ar both of them i volunteer at the louisville zoo and the humane society so go for it
