My other half says no, you have to just pay the cash, but I think there must be a company out there that would provide a loan or mortgage? If anyone knows please reply!

No. I had a look at a house boat once but it would have to be a bank loan.

Mobile homes on designated sites have big maintenence charges and ground rental and are not cheap to live in even if the cost is less than a house with this charge added on.

Without a designated site you won't be allowed to stay anywhere

Those in power are even very funny about you owning a mobile and living there on land you yourself have bought

It is strange there is no alternative to a brick and mortar mortgagage considering most cant afford them now

How lucky you are, I've just read through your other answers , not a lot of hope there !
I assume because you mentioned mortgage rather than loan its because you intend to live in it?
Not that its important, the answer is yes you can get a loan on a mobile home, your bank is really not interested in what you need to borrow money for, they just want a g'tee that they can grab it back if required, some sort of collateral. The value of the caravan wont cover it, they depreciate in value more than a car does!
If you don't have that collateral then your next best bet is hire purchase, but you must shop around to find the best deal.
You also appear to have caused a bit of confusion here, some folk think a 'mobile home' is a motor home, others think its a touring caravan, I'm classing it as meaning a large caravan suitable for living in all the year around ?
Many moons ago when I first married it didnt take me long to get fed up with living with my wifes parents, we didnt have much money we bought a residential caravan, on HP and lived in it for a couple of years until we graduated into house buying.
We have had lots of caravans since that time mainly sited on holiday parks.
Just a note of caution here, you can be robbed blind by some dealers and sites so beware.
I am not a dealer or HP agent so if you want to contact me for some impartial advise please feel free to do so, do not rush to the first dealer and hand over money. Get all your facts right, its not as simple or straightforward as you may think. But good luck to the pair of you.

Let me correct a few answers posted by others.

I say that you cannot get a mortgage loan on bricks and mortar.
To my understanding it has to be land because that is an immovable asset with a land office registration which the banks feel secure with. Even if a wooden house was built on the land, the banks will still give you the loan.

However, since your mobile home has wheels, you could try a vehicle loan.

I would disagree
Some banks give a mortgage loan on a Wesfalia (Volkswagon make them) as you can make it stationary kike a home)

Who's to say it's always on the road. That being said, you can always get a line of credit and secure the loan it as part of your home. I'd try a regular bank first

You can't get a mortgage on a wooden building - it has to be brick built. You'd have to get a bank loan for a mobile home xxx
