Mac release updates but not as often. Usually they are big add ons that you download to your computer. They are usually program added features or something. I don't know much about it but friend of mine uses a Mac and they get updates on regular basis but usually have big updates and not little tweaks that microsoft do

Hello Questa,
Apple offers updates occasionally, but they don't nag you constantly like Windows XP does. Dang, that's sooo annoying!
You can go up to your System Preferences. Under the System heading, you click on the Software Update icon. Here you can click on the check boxes to check the updates automatically, or do what I do and just leave them unchecked and just click on the Check Now button whenever you want to see what's new.
I just have a dial-up account at home, so just seeing what needs to be updated, is all I need to do, and then I download the stuff at work or take my PowerBook to other places where there is a faster Internet connection through the web. I just go to the Apple web site when I do this.

This seems quicker, but you do have to be careful that you download the correct version where Software Update knows which one you need.
Best of luck to you.

Now that it's becoming popular it does.
So few people used it before that it wasn't a popular target but now it is.
Especially after bragged about their security. So lately hackers have been trying to find at least one security hole every day.
And for every hole Apple has to release a patch. At least if they can find one!
