Borders has always seemed a lot friendlier, and I like the layout of the store better. It's not always easy to find what I'm looking for at Barnes and Noble.

barnes and noble. The borders in NJ are a mess always. Also, the kids section stinks. B&n has a better selection

Borders, because they have a bigger selection of newer novels displayed in the front of the store than Barnes and Noble. But I could spend all day in either one.

We have Walden Books which is part of Borders and it is tiny compared to Barnes and Noble. I would pick Barnes and Noble.

As far as the merchandise they carry, I like both equally. I go to Barnes and Noble more because they are closer, and our local store has a Starbucks attached to the facility...........it sure smells good in there.
