Hi friend

As a rule, always tailor your resume and your cover letter according to the firm you are applying to. Generally, recruiters prefer to read the cover letter in the body of the email. This saves their time. The resume should be sent as an attachement and the gist of your qualifications and experience should be mentioned in the cover letter as well. Its always easier for the recruiter to decide upon the potential of a prospect by going through the cover letter. A well drafted, precise cover letter highlighting your qualifications and skills entices the recruiter to read more. The recruiter will definitely take a good look at your resume, if your cover letter is good(read precise and error free).
It's a good practise to put the immediate objective in the Subject line of the email. A subject line like "Resume" doesn't tell anything to the recruiter and it might not ever be read. But a good subject line, entices the recruiter to read on.

Good Luck for your internship.

i used to be a recruiter for my company. and it really doesn't matter if you send it in the body or attachment. but i did prefer cover letter as the body of the email and resume as an attachment. also make sure you send your resume in a simple format. not too many crazy fonts or formatting. this is because some companies run resumes through a search system to filter them out for key words they are looking for and sometimes crazy formatting will mess up the scan and you're resume gets skipped.

Send the cover letter in the main body of the email and the resume as an attachment.

I usually send both as attachments, and then include a short note in the email text.

Because employers tend to print these out, by making them attachments, I can control how they are going to look and maintain a consistent appearance.

You may opt, cover letter in main text box and resume as attachment. However both can also be sent as attachments, with a short note.

Include your Cover letter as the first page of your document. So page one of the document you send is the cover page, and the following pages is the resume. That way you're only sending one attachment. Good luck to you.

I would suggest a formal covering letter in the body of the email and resume as an attachment. You must key-in the complete word instead of typing in a SMS manner (e.g., wud - would and u - you etc.,).

resume and covering letters can be written with professional help on the net by the job portals such as timesjob and naukri.com and sent as an attachment to the perspective employers .u can write it in the main text box also but it will be better if you send it as an attachment as it gives a good impression to the employers..............
