Yeah I always rewind the DVD and tell the kids and the wife to make sure it is rewound incase I want to watch it again later.

Since it's in the right spot on the timeline and it's the sound that's not coming out properly, it might be just that your computer is lagging. I'd say you still finish and save the video. When you're done saving, play the file. The sound should be in sync.

I watch DVD's not and not VHS cassettes so there's no need to rewind anything

I tried to, but my Beta tape got eaten by my 200 pound Beta tape player.
Now, I have nothing to play those Beta tapes on, and I still can't find another 8-track player. Even the flea market vendors laugh at me when I mention 8-track!
