I'm not clear on this: why do you have to file your tax return with a check stub? You need to wait until you receive your W-2, which is legally required to be postmarked by 1/31/07. The W-2 will have the employer's tax id. BTW, you need to attach Copy B of the W-2 form to your tax return to receive credit for federal withholding paid in by you, so don't be too quick to file your return without the W-2.

why would you want to do that. your employer should send you a w2 sub to claim on your taxes. be carefull you could get audited if you do not file correctly.
