I've been doing a stellar job in college for a while now...and although I've never been a "prep" school girl...I figure my grades are good enough...so why not try my hand at great education. I've made the Dean's List...right now I have a 3.1 (and rising) GPA. I'm in a leadership honor society..I'm in my sophomore year...so should I try my hand at applying to these schools? I'm an English major and any essays...I think I would do pretty good on.

I would suggest checking out their websites for what it would take to transfer to those schools.

Good Luck!!!

I had a friend that had similar credentials and transferred to Emory Sophmore year, so it's very possible. All the other schools are about the same competitively. Make sure to get great recommendations, write a great essay, an have a high sat score.

Good Luck!!!

I would definitely try!! Look at each of their websites and see what the requirements are. A 3.1 GPA isn't stellar to the schools you listed, but they will probably give you a fair shot. Good Luck!!

3.1 isn't that great as a Sophomore, it only gets harder from there. You better have high SATs or know somebody to get into any of those schools except Emory.

It sounds like you are doing great! The grades will get you into at least one of them. And since you're an English major, I'm sure your application essay will kick butt. Go for it! Apply to them all and see what happens!

It is unlikely those schools will accept you with such a low GPA.

I have seen colleges who I've never even heard of say that they don't really accept anything below a 3.5.

You could try applying to them but if I were you I wouldn't plan my future around it.

Months ago I was crying about being a waste of potential, today I heard from Yale, I have been accepted.
