Well, I would start with wikipedia, I suppose, since virtually everyone means "on the Internet" when they ask "where."

But the other thing is a used bookstore, especially one that has old periodicals as well as books. The magazines of the day were Life and Time and Look, and they really did depict the truth about what we were up to in those days. Pretty much; prettied up, too, of course.

The other thing is old movies and old television shows, both available now on DVDs. It is possible to see something of how we lived from them, but more to see what images we were given of how we lived.

And, ultimately, talk to your grandparents, who are probably old enough to remember. Ask them what they have stashed away as memorabilia.

The Internet has been the best source of information for me and you better hurry before the government gets involved with regulating the Internet. When that happens we will all be deceived, believe you me. Just type whatever you are looking for into your address bar.

Well, the 1950s would be a good place. I believe Doc Emmett Brown can help you out getting there.
