This is just a guess, I might be completely wrong here.
Probably hormones, but she could also be afraid of getting pregnant. I think it's pretty safe to do it during her period. Buy some extra strength condoms and see if that changes things.

Well, technically, women would be most "in to it" 14 days after her period because that would be when she is most likely to get pregnant. It's a natural thing, sperm will stay there for about a week and the egg will be more likely to meet the sperm. Your wife probably knows that and doesn't want to get pregnant, so she waits until she has her period. Or, she thinks she's most likely to get pregnant during her period, and she wants to have a baby. You guys should definately talk about what's going on, maybe look up some information to help you out.

It could be her hormones, or it could be when she is more lubricated. I know that sounds gross, but maybe she is having a problem with producing enough lubrication to make sex enjoyable for her. Often times this is not something you want to discuss with anyone, because it is a very tmi sort of thing. Don't want to further embarrass her? Get some warming lubricating gels and see if that helps, if not, then gently mention speaking to her gyn about hormones or whatever. Just as it is embarrassing for men to talk about dysfunction it is just that embarrassing for a woman to discuss these issues, so tread lightly so that she does not end up feeling worse.

Ditto what everyone said on the hormones, the rest of the month you may have to seduce her, maybe give her a massage and kiss the back of her neck~that should bring on the same results as period week!

Yes, it's definitely hormonal and maybe somewhat psychological. Less fear of getting pregnant and all. My hubby has asked me that same question many times, and that's the only answer we can come up with besides the hormone thing. Just like when I was PG. I wanted it ALL the time. I was totally unstoppable!!! LOL Mostly from hormones and partly because the fear was gone. Hope that makes sense!

She may want to talk to her doctor about regulating her hormones if she has no interest in sex the rest of the month.

It's as simple as we all want what we can't or shouldn't have and that's because of the hormones racing through our bodies.
I also found that depending on the severity of the pain I was having during my period, sex helped to relieve some of the tension, etc.
She also may find it more exciting because of the "can't have" scenario above.
I hope you aren't complaining. You may not be getting any at all if it weren't for that, eh?!?!?

Try something different to get her interested in the bedroom during the other times of the month.

Higher amount of hormones. I have a similar issue. It's just a lack of ability, and the rise of hormones....it's normal.
