with your mouth open wide you get warm air, if you do it with pursed lips you get cooler air, i thought it would have been the other way round, why is this?

I've actually wondered that myself a few times. Maybe it's because you are just gettin more warm air when you open your mouth wider so it just feels that way. When you purse the lips it only gets a smaller portion of your hand. I really don't know why, but I tried. That's a good question!

I remember there was a whole science lesson on this, but I wasn't listening. I'm pretty sure it was somewhere along the lines of the air moves faster when you purse your lips together, so not only does it hit harder, but it makes the air cooler, and when you just blow with your lips apart, the air moves slower so it doesn't cool. I think that was it...
