If a player is fouled and still makes the basket, the player is credited 2 or 3 points, depending on where he made the basket, and is awarded a free throw shot, for 1 pt.

So, if the player is fouled beyond the three point line, he has a chance for a 4 point play, assuming he made the 3 point shot when he was fouled.

Common referenced as "And 1", when a player is fouled and makes the basket. Because, as stated gets a chance to add another point via a free throw.

if a player is fouled and makes the basket they get an extra free throw shot. so if it was a 2 pointer that they made they would go to the line and shoot 1 free throw. If it was a 3 point shot then they would shoot 1 more at the free throw line. Hope it helps!

it depends, if they were fouled at the SAME TIME they were shooting it they will go to the ft line with one shot for a possible 3 point play, but if they were fouled and then they shoot it they will just go to the line with 2 shot

In the NBA, you are credited with the two points for the shot and then get one free throw.
