most of these people don't know what they're talking about....just be safe if you are going to try it. be around your close friends that you are comfortable with. do it in a safe setting (don't go out partying). there still is a risk of having a bad trip, hence the safe environment. maybe have someone that is sober present.....don't do it too much, addiction is bad period.

I have tried LSD... unfortunately, it hasn't been that long for me to witness any long term effects, (I do feel slightly more insane, but i do every year, and i do a good amount of drugs,) It is a wonderful experience and i reccomend you try it at least once. I did it probly 10-13 times over the course of last summer taking 1-4 hits each time. I liked mixing it alot with other drugs, it seems to make the mental part of the trip less intense, but thats just me; don't go trying it the first time you do it.
But for the most part, you should be fine, just make sure you're with some close friends, (especially if you've never done any hallucenogenic substances before)..and keep a good mindset, thats all you need do, and i guarantee you will see lots of beautiful, beautiful things....

In the long term, everything kills you. You're going to die so getting over that is priority number 1...
Now that you're comfortable with your mortality you can look at the world with a clearer view.
Lots of people ingest drugs into their body, every day. They've been doing for thousands of years and will continue to into the unforseeable future. Most people don't even realize they are taking drugs because of their perception of whats classified as a "drug". Constant exposure in daily life to some drugs, like caffiene, aspirin, alcohol, and tobacco, have warped their idea of what constitutes a drug.
LSD is one of the most widely researched psychoactive agents we have. And the majority of researchers have concluded that it is much safer than most over the counter drugs. Doses are so small that most other chemicals aren't even active in the amount that LSD is. A mere 15% of what you ingest actually crosses your blood brain barrier. The rest is metabolized in your body and urinated out within the next 2-3 days. Your body does build up a tolerance to acid very quickly, so that you would have to increase the dose if you were taking it again in a 24 period. But waiting 3-4 days will bring your tolerance level right back down again.
Now I personally don't think it's healthy on your psychological self to be doing LSD every 3 or 4 days but it is ultimately your body and your choice what you do with it in life, and dropping acid every weekend is much safer than shooting up heroin or snorting cocaine. I myself only partake of hallucinogens every couple monthes or so and haven't felt any noticeable negative long term effects. I did have one flashback that was very enjoyable.
A good place to get information on the drug:

i have never tried LSD, but just because your friends are doing doesn't give you a good reason to try it. If your friends are slicing there wrists are you going to do it to? What if you try it and you really like it and you want to do it all the time? You become addicted? Did you think of that, not many people do and what if you have some type of a reaction to it and need to go to the hospital? Who will be there for You? Your friends when they are all tripping to, I don't think so. Don't do drugs, live life on a natural high and enjoy it.

Don't do it. Lost too many friends to drugs. They didn't die, but I saw their psychology change over the period of a few short months. Why risk doing permanent psychological damage for a few minutes or hours of fun? I've seen too many good people have their personality corrupted for a short high. Be whatever god intended you to be, and don't let chemicals rewire your brain.

don't listen to these sissys... LSD cannot kill you... it can mess you up in the head if you do to much at once, or to much over a long period of time... it is very fun... my drug of choice in fact, if its your first time, i wouldn't take more then one hit, your first trip is allways the most intense, so surround yourself with good friends, in a good place, with chill music... i don't suggest having anybody around that isn't tripping...

Have you ever seen anyone have a bad trip? It's absolutely horrible and yes you would regret this monumentally. I was 13 and now I'm 47 and I still have bad memories.

I can't comment on the long term risks, but I can tell you that the realizations that you come away with are pretty amazing.
