Restraining orders don't work until the victim is dead. It may be time for you to seriously take time to get a lawyer and talk to the proper authorities and tell them that this guy is a serious threat to your family's lives. Shooting up a house is attempted murder no matter how you look at the situation. I am more than positive if you go to a lawyer....you may find out the correct channels to follow so you may live a safe life.

i imagine i am going to commence with asking why the reported dad has been in detention center for a even as. I propose if it is a few thing worse than stealing from an domicile save, i'd not go with to understand my dad both. you should get a criminal specialist and verify out to strive against for custody or some thing. i'm particular that because you're a grandparent, you've a particular factor of declare (sorry for making your grandkids sound like some inanimate gadgets XD). of direction i'm particular that the choose will see reason I propose in case you enable little ones stay with their father whose been in penal complicated for unknown offenses, its in contrast to this would have a favorable result on society. Spending time with any such father may even lead them down the incorrect route. If the reported father has been in detention center for attack or regardless of, this guy may harm the little ones!

In every state in the country, with the exception of certain cities like Washington D.C. you are permitted at a minimum to keep firearms in your home. I would strongly encourage both you and your parents to purchase 20 gauge shotguns and keep them handy. If you live in one of the 40+ states where law-abiding citizens are allowed (not sure how you can be "allowed" to exercise a right) to carry firearms you should begin the permit process now. Depending on your state there may be certain training requirements and you may be required to submit fingerprints. Go to NRA sponsored women's events at your local shooting range every chance you can. These are low or no cost and the instructors are great, and you will probably meet some women with similar experiences who may have insights for you.

When you say he got 11 years in prison, is that with out the possibility of parole, the maximum sentence (i.e. he could be out in 4 if he behaves well) or the minimum sentence (i.e. he could be in as long as 25 if he doesn't behave well)? Consider giving impact statements at parole hearings. However, if his sentence does get extended he may blame you more, or he may blame you anyway.

#1 Stay informed about what is happening with him, if he is up for parole, out on work release, or escapes you need to know.

Make sure you stay in contact with the parole board people so they let you know when he will be released. He may get out way before that. Other than that advise I don't know what else to say to you. If your parents won't move, you and your daughter should most definitly relocate. Try not to let fear rule your life, though. Good luck!

Forgive him. Take a Christian pastor with you to see him, while behind protective bars, and tlak calmly, and nicely to him, not mentioning what he did, and what got him there. He already knows that. F.E.A.R. comes from False Evidence Appearring Real. You are protected at the jail. And talk calmly, nice words to him, and he can heal, and everyone can have peace. HE, then can come to forgiveness of everything, and understand that HIS vengence, should NEVER have been his.
A soft word turneth away wrath.
