The above link gives a list of hurricanes through history which have hit the Dominican Republic. (I assume you mean the DR, not Dominica, which is also featured.) It is impossible to give an accurate answer to your question, as hurricanes are very irregular in terms of frequency and also very variable in terms of strength, so minor hurricanes tend not to remain in the records.

The hurricane season start June 1 to November 30, how often is not predictable, the last one to hit Dominican Republic was on 2005. Is the same as Florida or St Louis you cant predict how many of the (predictable hurrican the weather service announce to form on the Caribbean ) will impact what island, specific day or Type of Hurricane. There are a lot of factor,but you could try the weather service for a % of how many in the las 100years has past through Dominican Republic. In the caribbean Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic most of the biggest hurricane to past through this island have been on September (this is the month ) more critic for us.

not so often as florida does.
the last one to hit the main city was George hurricane and it was at 1998, since then we've had storms and all, but not hurricanes.
