Take care as cutting conifers at this time of year in the UK is not recommended.Cuts of more than half inch in diameter could leave the tree vulnerable to frost damage and might cause the tree to die.Check this with a tree surgeon.

If DIY is an option that is a great way to save those pennies, however if that is out of the question try looking in the yellow pages.
I know that local service men are usually cheaper than those who have to travel for miles.
Make sure they take away the cuttings too!
Hope this helps.

I have a fabulous gardnener who would do this but I am North Based, so look in your local paper under garden work and get a few quotes first and always say you have to check with your partner first, coz if you are a lady they think we are to free with the cash.

While you may want someone to do the work for you, I believe I would still cultivate my own ability to do it myself. You would need to take the time needed to look at the plants to figure out for yourself the shape you want. Draw a sketch to help decide how you want it done, then carefully prune, taking time to step back to examine your progress as you go. You will gain self esteem, and a better feeling for yourself by doing the work yourself, as opposed to paying someone to do it for you.
