Yes he is only supposed to be gone for 4 episodes, as the actor is making a movie. Liev Schrieber(sp) is filling in while he's away as Keppler, who's second episode aired on Thursday, meaning he has only 2, maybe three episodes left.
Unless they make him a psycho I wouldn't mind seeing him move off into one of the other CSI's, Miami especially, as it has gotten far too 'soapy' for my tastes this season, seriously the other week 3 members of the cast were suspects in the same Homicide, I can suspend disbelief quite far but that was pushing even my limits

course! Gils the backbone of the show and it wont work without him...
Hes just taking a "sabattical" cause in real life Williams doing some sort of show.
They cant get rid of the top character like that it wouldnt be right.

Grissom/william isnt old! hes older than David Caruso (csi miami) but younger that Gary Sinese (csi NY) haha!.

YES YES YES they had an article about him leaving in tv guide about a month ago andhe was leaving to do some sort of play I believe but they said he would be back...I missed his last scene with Sarah anything interesting happened when he told her he was leaving or did they not show it?

He is just taking a break but will be back. They can't take away a good character just like that.

oh my yes. besides he is soooo hot . he sent sarah something in a box and she looked in the bottom of it I guess she was expecting something more .
