Stupid in my opinion.Acacia is a plant and I have never heard it as a name but I think children will make fun of her.Why not something normal like Gracie, Jamie-Lynn, Amber, Sesilia, Kaylynne, Ivette, Briana?

How about what you think might sound beautiful as a spoken word but with the practical part of the child being able to spell it and teachers able to pronounce it... everyday I have a student tell me how to pronounce their name... Shaquana couldn't spell her name until she was in 5th grade, really.... Think of syllables too, anything more than necessary, well... it is unnecessary...in the end Catalina, they live with their name, I have a friend who's mother was way cool in the name game and just gave her an initial for a middle name and told her when she was ready to use thte middle intial and make her name what she wanted to... so she changed it form Stacy K. Flanigan to Kiss Flanigan a few years ago... great move on her mother's part...

I absolutely love that name... My daughter is due in March and i was deciding between Acacia or Aviva... I chose Aviva but it was close! I pronounced it ah-say-shuh, but that was what i guessed how you pronounced it... I really dont know...

When you think of names for a baby you should ask yourself if you'd like to be called by that name(every minute of your life) before giving the baby that name!
Personally I wouldn't want to hear someone call me the name you are considering.

It sounds to me like a diagnosis more than it does a name for a person---

It's cute but will be prone to mispronunciation. I like Acadia (a-KAY-dee-ah) too.
