I hate to admit it but, I actually sold them for awhile. That is how they do business. They go door to door selling them. I hated doing it because I always felt like I was bothering people. The money wasn't bad because the sweepers I was selling cost $1,500.00. I actually had a lady put her car up for collateral so she could purchase one! Wow.
I have one that I got for selling them. It's great because of all the uses it has. I can shampoo my carpet and unclog drains! Very cool product with a lifetime warranty. *Geez, I still sound like a salesman*

Think about what you just asked. If you've seen the demonstration, you'll know that they walked in and vacuumed the whole entire room and with your vacuum. The begin talking about what it can do and the attachments, then they begin to vacuum the same room again and begin to pull out rags of dirt when that had just vacuumed. They even do a baking soda test and show you your vacuumed doesn't pick up anything. All the proof is in your face in your own home, with your vacuum, your carpet, and your dirt. The people scamming you is the people in the Comercial who take 100 videos and show you the one you wanna see. Kirby shows you in your own home every single time in every single house. So do you really wanna pay 150$ for a vacuum that makes noise and waste electricity but doesn't really do anything. Call a Kirby office and ask for a demo. And you'll be a buyer.

I have one that is about 7 years old and it needs an overhaul (Kirby allows one rebuild per purchase). Basically, my kids vacuumed something that was wet and it clogged the whole system. I bought a cheapo Bissell from Target about a year ago and it's been doing the job. I am weary now of having a vaccum with a bag filter system versus the bagless systems (I found that I love having the option of dumping the canister continually). The best things about Kirby is the built-in Hepa filter system and all the cool options (carpet shampooer, sander, etc.).

i do. i have a "g-5", which was purchased new in 1997, or thereabouts, and it is still used daily. i have pretty bad allergies, and it really does make a difference in how bothered i am by dust mites and animal dander and fur from around the house. mine was bought on a payment plan, and ended up costing around two grand, once all the interest and such was factored in. it is about the only thing i still have from my first marriage. coincidentally, as much as i like the vacuum, the marriage sucked even more than the appliance...that was a vacuum joke. hee-hee. anyway, there you have it. ten years and it still works as well as it did when i first bought it, though it looks a bit more banged up than it did then.

that's way too much for a vacuum unless it comes attached to someone who's going to do the vacuuming for me

I have one. It was my grandfathers. I got it when he died. Works great. But there is no way in hell I would spend that kinda money on a vacuum.
